On Monday, February 23, 2004, the Loudoun County Planning Commission staff forwarded the zoning ordinance amendment regarding allowable uses in the County's River and Stream Overlay Districts (RSCODs) to its workshop session next Monday, March 1, 2004.
This amendment is in response to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' initiation of a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPAM) to modify the Loudoun County General Plan River and Stream Corridor Resources policies to allow active and passive recreation facilities, public utilities, storm drainage facilities, and golf courses by Special Exception in the floodplain. The policies apply county-wide to rivers and streams draining 100 acres or more and include associated 100-year floodplains, adjacent steep-slope areas, and 50-foot management buffers.
The CPAM is currently scheduled for a Planning Commission Public Hearing on March 15 and a Board of Supervisors Public Hearing on March 23.
