| The Norfolk District's State Program General Permit 01
(SPGP-01) became effective on November 1, 2002. When this
permit was issued, the Corps committed to conducting an annual
review of its effectiveness and an evaluation of the extent of
its cumulative impacts.
To follow through on this commitment, the Corps and DEQ
will be preparing an annual review report and publishing it
with a public notice to provide the public with an opportunity
to comment on the report and SPGP-01. This public notice is
expected to be released mid- to late-November and provide for
a 60-day comment period. The Corps will also be convening a
meeting of the SPGP-01 Stakeholders Group to assist in
evaluating the permit and making necessary adjustments.

SPGP-01, contact Mike Rolband as he is a member of the Stakeholders
Group. The next Stakeholders Group meeting is December 17,
2003 so please submit any comments before that date so they
may be sufficiently addressed. |
