| DCR Stormwater Regulations Delayed |

It is very likely that the recently adopted Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) stormwater regulations (see Field Notes Vol. 17 No. 8) will be delayed until late 2011. The Home Builders Association of Virginia-led coalition of business organizations and local governments reached an agreement with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the James River Association, and The Nature Conservancy on a measure to "temporarily" suspend the stormwater regulation.

| Loudoun County Chesapeake Bay Hearing |

Loudoun County Planning Commission held its first public hearing on the proposed Loudoun County Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Ordinance on January 28, 2010. The Loudoun County Staff presentation included a brief history of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act followed by an overview of the proposed ordinances and plan changes up for adoption by Loudoun County.

| New Dam Safety Bills Introduced at the 2010 Virginia General Assembly |

Three new bills related to the Virginia Dam Safety Regulations were introduced in the 2010 Regular Legislation Session of the Virginia General Assembly, which convened on Wednesday, January 13. These new bills, Senate Bill 276, House Bill 438, and House Bill 1320, will affect the economics of existing dam owners.

| Fairfax EQC Disturbances |

On January 6, 2010, the Fairfax County Planning Commission gained significant input from the community regarding its proposed policy modification to address EQC disturbances (see Field Notes Vol. 17 No. 8). The Planning Commission's Environment Committee will discuss this input on March 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisor's Conference Room.
